There’s no substitute for experience.
This 4-day workshop is packed with a variety of everything you’ll need to walk away with the knowledge, confidence, and inspiration to launch you to the next level. Gain hands-on experience, ski fresh powder, and learn how to craft a fast film, given the constraints.
It doesn’t get more real or more hands-on than this.
This is a great workshop for all levels, including beginners and intermediate filmmakers. Don’t ski? Not a problem, there are options!
What story do you want to tell? What are the first steps toward developing this story? Spend Friday developing your story. Learn storytelling techniques on how to plan and shoot these ideas. Then spend all day Saturday shooting. Do all this while playing in the snow and having a cozy back country yurt to call home at the end of the day.
On Sunday & Monday experience what the “editing cave” is all about. We intentionally compress edit time to keep you moving toward a deadline. You’ll be surprised what you can accomplish in such a short timeframe! Learn to optimize for the edit. Create sequences and learn how to add audio, sound effects and choose that perfect sountrack. Put the final touches on your film before showing it at our mini film festival Monday evening.
Nestled in the Central Cascades just outside of Highway 2, our backcountry yurt is a gorgeous snowcat ride away and offers over 1500 acres of skiing and terrific views of Washington’s snowcapped peaks.
The first 2 days in the yurt are all inclusive; food, lodging instruction and guides. Day 3 & 4 we provide the editing space, all instruction and some light snacks. Lodging, food & transportation are not included on day 3 & 4.
Our editing location will have internet, coffee, space for your belongings and provide the essentials for editing a fast film!
You have the option of creating your own film or working in a small group. Working solo means securing all your own gear for the trip, working in a group lets you share gear between each other. If you do not have any of the items listed below, no problem. You can borrow and/or share from our limited gear library. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.
