Cancellation & Refund Policy
In order to prepare our events, we need to make advanced reservations for event locations, guides, lodging, food, film permits, and instructors. Cancellations are difficult. We may not always have the option to recoup our expenses if you cancel. Our policies are as follows:
- 90+ days of registration – 100% refund
- 61-90 days prior to course start – 75% refund
- 31-60 days prior to course start – 50% credit toward AFS future course(s)
- 30 days prior to course start – No refund
Your trip may be transferred to someone else if it is determined by AFS that they are in the proper physical condition to participate in the trip activity, meets the requirements of the application process, assumes responsibility for any outstanding payments.
Adventure Film School reserves the right to cancel any event, or a part of an event, due to an inadequate number of participants or environmental conditions which, in our opinion, would compromise the safety of participants. We will make every effort to notify you if a trip may be cancelled at least 30 days in advance. In such cases, we will attempt to accommodate you on another trip. Should we have to cancel your registration, a full refund will be made or can apply to a future trip.
Travel
Each event on our website will outline what’s provided on the course. In most cases, you are responsible for getting yourself to and from the start location. After registration, you will receive an email with further instructions or details about the course. If applicable, it may also outline any additional needs such as visas, permits, vaccinations, etc. If you need any assistance, do not hesitate to contact us.
If traveling internationally, you must carry a valid passport and have obtained all of the appropriate visas, permits and certificates for the countries in which you will visit during your trip. We strongly recommend your passport must be valid for six months beyond the duration of the trip. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in possession of the correct visas, permits and certificates for your trip, though we can help provide resources to get setup. We are not responsible if you are refused entry to a country because you lack the correct passport, visa or other travel documentation. Contact your local embassy or consulate for the most up-to-date visa requirements.
Health & Fitness
Adventure Film School organizes courses & events in natural areas where the environment can sometimes lead to unpredictable conditions. To avoid possibly dangerous situations it is extremely important that all travelers obey any rules, regulations, or instructions from the tour leaders, guides, or authorities.
We reserve the right to prohibit any traveler from continuing on a trip with no right of refund if, in our opinion, that traveler’s actions pose a threat to the safety of them, others, or to the wildlife, or if that traveler’s actions or behaviors are seriously jeopardizing the enjoyment of the trip for others. The decision of Adventure Film School’s trip leader or representative will at all times be final on all matters likely to affect the safety and well-being of the trip. All travelers must, at all times, strictly comply with the laws, customs, foreign exchange and drug regulations of all countries visited. Adventure Film School will not accept responsibility or liability for any traveler who contravenes any laws or other regulations of any country visited.
Most of our trips are suitable for anyone reasonably fit. If we feel it requires above-average fitness, we will be sure to outline this in the event description. If you (or anyone on whose behalf you are booking) are affected by any condition, medical or otherwise, that might affect your or other people’s enjoyment of the trip, you must advise us of this at the time of booking. If you have any questions or concerns, we are happy to discuss this in detail to help assess if it’s the right fit. Any information or advice provided by Adventure Film School on matters such as vaccinations, climate, clothing, baggage, special equipment, etc. is given in good faith but without responsibility on our part. We will do our best to prepare you for the trip, but please consult a doctor regarding matters of health and fitness should you have any concerns.
